Mesa Contemporary Arts (MCA) Museum is Mesa Arts Center’s exciting visual art exhibition venue. MCA Museum presents curated and juried exhibits of modern art by emerging and globally known artists in five spectacular galleries. Lectures by notable artists and arts practitioners, art classes, and a volunteer Docent program are all available at the MCA Museum. Contemporary art by emerging and globally renowned artists is on display at the museum. Smaller artists, many of whom are from the area, are represented.
The artists invite the audience to experience the installation as a planetary researcher and to gain a sense of the physical location where scientific exploration begins and becomes a part of the physical world. Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum is committed to bringing contemporary art education to everyone! MCA Museum makes learning enjoyable for all ages through tours, hands-on experiences, and various educational outreach.
Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum publishes a Season Prospectus every May that details the submission guidelines for the museum’s upcoming exhibitions.
They are committed to the collection, presentation, and interpretation of art created after 1940, in all media, and to preserving that work for future generations. They provide leadership in the field by identifying and presenting the most significant and challenging art of our time, actively supporting the creation of new work, and producing original scholarship. They have one of the world’s most persuasive collections of contemporary art, with over 7000 pieces, and a long history of ground-breaking, historically important exhibitions.
They offer venues with a mix of indoor and outdoor environments to ensure a special and unforgettable experience for you and your guests. Mesa Contemporary Arts Museum’s collection continues to grow and expand thanks to the generosity of numerous artists and donors. The MCA Museum gathers, displays, and cares for modern works on paper and traditional media. Ceramics, fibers, basketry, metals, wood, glass, jewelry, papermaking, and book arts are all included in this category.
You won’t be able to see the Mesa Art Center if you’re driving by. The museum is on the lower floor of a small glass house and close to a light rail station and has parking.
