The tourism sector has existed the longest among Phoenix’s leading businesses today. The industry, which began with promotions in the 1920s, has developed into one of the top 10 in the city. Greater Phoenix welcomes more than 16 million visitors annually, the majority of whom are leisure tourists, and has more than 62,000 hotel rooms spread over more than 500 hotels and 40 resorts. With its gorgeous weather, abundance of activities and attractions, and friendly locals, Phoenix is sure to please everyone in your group. Here are the top three things you don’t want to miss when visiting Phoenix.

1. Phoenix Art Museum

The largest museum of visual art in the southwest of the United States is the Phoenix Art Museum. The 285,000-square-foot museum is located in Phoenix, Arizona. Along with its extensive collection of more than 18,000 pieces of modern and contemporary art, fashion design, and works by American, Asian, European, Latin American, and Western American artists, the museum also hosts international exhibits.

Since 1959, it has served as a community center, hosting events including festivals, live performances, independent films, and educational activities all year round. The James K. Ballinger Interactive Gallery, an interactive area for kids, photographic exhibitions made possible by the museum’s collaboration with the Center for Creative Photography, the manicured Sculpture Garden, culinary options, and retail are also included in The Hub. A Phoenix Point of Pride designation has been given to it.

The museum’s permanent collection galleries are comprised of more than 19,000 pieces of American, Asian, European, Latin American, Western American, modern and contemporary art, and fashion design in addition to a yearly schedule of shows. Through the museum’s historic collaboration with the Center for Creative Photographic at the University of Arizona, visitors may also take in photography exhibitions. American and European paintings may be seen at the museum. It also includes sculptures from the 20th century and modern art.

Numerous educational activities are available at the museum. The Education Division of the museum’s programming is divided by audience and kind of learning method to cater to a range of ages and formal and informal learning styles.

A nationally competitive internship program is further supported by the Education Division. Current undergraduates, graduate students, and recent graduates with the necessary courses, experience, and background are eligible for internships. The course is presented all year round, and project-based internships are occasionally provided as well.

2.  Phoenix Zoo

The biggest privately owned, non-profit zoo in the United States, the Phoenix Zoo opened its doors in 1962. The zoo which covers 125 acres (51 ha) of property in the Papago Park neighborhood of Phoenix, was established by Robert Maytag, a member of the Maytag family.

Over 1,400 species are on show in the zoo, which also boasts 2.5 miles of walking paths. It is separated into four primary themed zones or trails: the Children’s Trail, which has a petting zoo, the Tropics Trail, which features creatures from rain forests, and the Arizona Trail, which features plants and animals native to the American Southwest.

Since its establishment, the zoo has prioritized conservation. The last few Arabian oryx, which served as the foundation for the global herd assembled for Operation Oryx and finally permitted the return of the species into the wild, were held there shortly after it opened. It now has a refuge where unwanted or endangered animals can be cared for.

Many creatures who require a place to live for various reasons might find shelter in the zoo. Others of these animals take part in captive breeding operations, some have left these programs and require a home, some have behavioral issues, and some are being rehabilitated to go back into the wild.

The zoo treats animals in sanctuary facilities considerably differently from other animals. The sanctuary displays are almost entirely centered on the comfort and well-being of the animals, in contrast to regular exhibits that balance the demands of the animals with those of the people, for example, by having vast viewing spaces.

Field visits, Night Camp, an outreach program that uses a zoomobile to reach out to areas outside the city, a summer camp, and a sizable volunteer program for teens 13 to 17, known as the Zooteen program, are just a few of the zoo’s many kid activities and animal interactions.

3. Desert Botanical Garden

The garden, which was constructed here in 1939 and was founded by the Arizona Cactus and Native Flora Society in 1937, presently comprises more than 50,000 plants in more than 4,000 taxa, one-third of which are local species, including 379 rare, vulnerable, or endangered species.

The extensive collections of agave and cactus, particularly those in the Opuntia subfamily, deserve special mention. Shadehouses offer protection to plants from less harsh climates. It focuses on plants that can survive in arid environments and includes collections from Australia, South America, and Baja California. Upland chaparral, a semi-desert grassland, and a mesquite bosque are among the habitats that are portrayed.

The Garden provides specialist tours, workshops, and talks on desert horticulture, photography, natural art, and health. It has been hosting Las Noches de las Luminarias since 1978, as well as open-air acoustic performance series in the spring and fall. The Luminarias Festival, which features live music and 8000 hand-lit luminarias, has become a Southwestern holiday tradition.

When the staff was few and the budget was limited, volunteers were crucial to the construction and growth of the Garden. These early sponsors helped organize and carry out plant sales, photography and art exhibits, and countless public events. Some amateur botanists who contributed their own plant collections were also among these early supporters.

Volunteers continue to be valuable resources for the Garden, contributing their time, skills, and knowledge. As members of the Board of Trustees, they determine policies and oversee the Garden along with the staff in order to preserve the Garden’s reputation as a leading center for plant study.

The Garden’s dedication to the area is to promote excellence in teaching, research, exhibiting, and desert plant conservation, with a focus on the Sonoran Desert. They make sure the Garden is always a captivating destination that vividly depicts the diverse beauty of the desert.

Top 3 Questions People in Phoenix, Arizona Have About Family Law

No one ever expects to find themselves in a situation where they need the help of a family law attorney, but sometimes life happens and you have no other choice. If you’re like most people in Phoenix, Arizona, you may have a few questions about family law. Here are the top three questions we hear from our clients:

1. Does Arizona Favor Mothers In Custody Cases?

When it comes to family law matters, such as child custody and divorce, many people often wonder whether Arizona favors mothers over fathers. In Arizona, courts do not tend to favor mothers in child custody disputes.

It’s important to keep in mind that family courts are guided by the best interests of the child when making decisions about custody and visitation. This means that the judge will consider a variety of factors when determining what arrangements are in the child’s best interests.

The children’s relationships with each parent and any siblings, their adjustment to each parent’s home, schools, and community, and their wishes—but only if the child is of an appropriate age and maturity to make such decisions—are the most compelling factors the court must take into account when determining legal decision-making and parenting time in Arizona.

The emotional and physical health of everyone concerned is a crucial factor for the court, as is which parent is more likely to allow the kids regular, meaningful, and ongoing contact with the other parent. The court finds it quite disturbing when one parent seems to be preventing the kids from seeing the other parent frequently, barring compelling circumstances.

Additionally, it’s important to be aware that there is no legal preference for either parent in Arizona. In matters involving child custody, judges are not allowed by statute to give mothers preferential treatment over fathers. In other words, both mothers and fathers are treated equally under the law, and neither is given preferential treatment when it comes to custody decisions. Domestic violence, child abuse, and neglect are also given significant weight by the court.

If you are involved in a child custody dispute, it’s crucial to seek the advice of an experienced family law attorney who can help you navigate this complex legal process. With the right representation on your side, you can feel confident that your rights and interests will be protected throughout the process.

2. What Are Fathers’ Rights In Arizona?

As a father navigating the complex legal system in Arizona, it is important to be aware of your rights and responsibilities when dealing with family law matters. Familiarize yourself with the phoenix family laws that govern your case. Each situation is unique, so it is essential to understand the specific rules and guidelines that apply to your case.

Fathers’ rights in Arizona are protected under the state’s family laws, which aim to ensure that both mothers and fathers are treated fairly during divorce proceedings and child custody disputes. Whether you are a new father or have been involved in your children’s lives for many years, it is important to understand your rights and how the law can help protect them.

Some of the key aspects of Arizona family laws that pertain to fathers’ rights include visitation schedules, child support payments, and legal decision-making authority. For example, if you are seeking more time with your children, you may be able to petition the court for a schedule that better fits your work and family obligations. Additionally, if you need financial assistance with raising your kids, you may be able to seek support payments from your ex-partner.

In Arizona, there are a number of factors that can contribute to a father losing his rights as a parent. These may include issues with child custody, child support payments, or criminal convictions related to domestic violence or abuse. Additionally, fathers who choose not to remain involved in their children’s lives may also be at risk of losing their rights.

Whatever your situation, it is important to work with an experienced family law attorney who can help you navigate the legal process and assert your rights as a father. Whether you are seeking sole or joint custody of your children, engaging in mediation, or filing for divorce, an attorney can provide the guidance and support you need to achieve the best possible outcome for you and your family.

3. How Is Custody Determined In AZ?

If you are currently going through a separation or divorce and need help determining how custody will be determined in Phoenix, there are several things you should know. For starters, the courts typically consider a variety of factors when making this decision, including each parent’s ability to provide adequate care for their children, the children’s needs, and any history of abuse or neglect.

In Phoenix and other cities across Arizona, family laws play a critical role in determining who gets child custody after a divorce or separation. One of the main factors that are taken into consideration when assigning custody is the ability of a parent to provide adequate care for their children. This includes not only providing physical care, but also emotional support and stability.

There are several different factors that can be considered when evaluating a parent’s ability to provide adequate care for their children. Some of these include the parent’s mental health and well-being, their income and financial stability, their living situation, and any history of substance abuse or domestic violence. Ultimately, the goal of child custody laws is to ensure that each child has access to both parents and receives the love, support, and care they need to thrive.

Another key consideration is your relationship with the child’s other parent. If you can come to an agreement on custody issues without involving the courts, this may help reduce conflict and make things easier for everyone involved. However, if this isn’t possible, you will need to be prepared for a lengthy legal battle that requires patience, persistence, and strategic planning.

If you are facing a legal battle over child custody in Phoenix, it is crucial that you work with an experienced family law attorney who can guide you through the process and help ensure a positive outcome. With the right legal support, you can feel confident in your ability to protect your child’s best interests and achieve the custody arrangement that works for your family.
