Those who know DeeAn Gillespie Strub can describe her in three words: caring, courageous, and competent. Growing up as the oldest of nine children, DeeAn quickly learned leadership and resourcefulness. With both parents as educators, she also acquired a love of learning, and from her mathematician, father learned to think analytically. Following in her parents’ footsteps, her first career step was to become a teacher. It was not long before she determined she could use her teaching skills most effectively in a different arena: the law. She wanted to make a difference for people.

Graduating from Brigham Young University Law School in 1984, DeeAn set up shop in Arizona and founded the firm now known as GillespieShields, which currently boasts eleven top-flight attorneys. With characteristic determination, DeeAn has risen to the top of her profession, having received several awards, including the prestigious Jesse Udall Distinguished Service Award. She has also served as both an instructor and guest lecturer for many seminars on a wide variety of family law topics. This multi-talented attorney is also the co-owner of a premier art gallery, The Marshall Gallery, in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Nothing excites DeeAn more than helping people and families, especially those who unfairly find themselves in a challenging legal situation. Known for her compassion and her dogged determination on behalf of her clients, DeeAn is that rare breed of attorney who cares deeply and has the courage and competence to do something about it.
