Hawes Trail System is a great place to hike if you’re looking for some peace. Located in the small town of Hawes, Fountain Hills, Arizona this system offers more than 4 miles of trails located on more than 1,000 acres. The trail entrance is off Mountain Road near the intersection with Route 655.

There are parking areas at both entrances to the trail system. Parking on Mountain Road will be easier because it’s closer to the entrance but there are no facilities available there so don’t forget your water!  Hawes Trail System is a great place for hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners. Hawes has been recognized as one of the top ten places to hike in Pennsylvania by USA Today!

Some areas have steep inclines so keep this in mind when you’re planning your trip. If you don’t feel comfortable going down these hills then just walk up to them instead of running or biking because it could result in injury if you fall. So make sure to wear the proper shoes and be safe out there!

Make sure to bring plenty of water with you each hike as well as snacks to keep you energized. Also, wear the proper footwear because it’s important to be safe out there! Hawes is a great place for hikers of all levels but make sure to pay attention to the trails and stay aware of your surroundings.

It’s a good idea to wear bright clothing if you plan on going during the day and maybe even invest in some glow sticks for your wrists or ankles so cars can see you at night. Hawes is a popular trail system but it still has its fair share of wildlife such as snakes, bears, and coyotes so beware!

There are lots of other possibilities that Hawes Trail System holds which means there will always be something new to discover out here. They’re planning on adding another six miles soon too which sounds like an amazing adventure waiting to happen!

Make sure to visit their site first before starting any hikes because they have all kinds of information including maps and current conditions. You’ll also find additional suggestions about what else you could do while you’re in Hawes such as checking out the various waterfalls and swimming holes. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit too because Hawes has some awesome places for a quick dip!

The Hawes Trail System entrance is located on Rt 302, just south of its intersection with Route 16 near Franconia Notch State Park. Parking for hikers and other visitors can be found off-road across from the entrance or at nearby businesses along Rt 302.

Hikers are encouraged to stop by the Friends of Hawes Trail office before starting their hikes for maps, information about rerouting trails due to weather conditions, and any closures that may have been put into place recently, plus they also offer free trial reports throughout hiking season which is a great way to stay up-to-date on Hawes’ conditions.

The Hawes Trail System holds some of the most popular trails in the White Mountains. The trail system is home to over 25 miles of hiking trails, including a stretch that has been dubbed “the best day hike in New England.”
