The Children’s Museum of Phoenix offers more than 150 creative and educational exhibits including great opportunities for active play like building with blocks and experimenting with electricity. Children can explore the Children’s Museum of Phoenix through exhibits like climbing, drawing, and building. A museum is a place where kids up to age 10 could read books, pedal bikes they built themselves using wood from trees in Arizona forests which are replanted after being cut down by several organizations that work with the state government called Reforesters who make sure that sustainable forestry practices are upheld before harvesting any natural resources including certain types of plant life used for medicine or food products.

The site for the Children’s Museum was originally built in 1913. The Monroe School, at that time the largest elementary school in the West, was included into the National Register of Historic Places after being used as a school till 1972 and purchased by the City of Phoenix later on.

In 1998, the concept for Phoenix Family Museum was born and it traveled from school to school as supporters raised funds for a permanent home. In 2006 renovations began at Monroe School with financial names funding the project along with voter-approved bond issues and grants leading up to when Children’s Museum of Phoenix opened its doors in 2008.

The Art Studio

The Art Studio at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix provides children with an opportunity to create their own Van Gogh-inspired paintings. A studio is a place where kids can make art and learn about famous artists such as Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, etc., all under one roof.

The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is a great place for kids and their families to explore, create, imagine and learn! Staff members are located throughout the museum ready to help your children with fun activities or provide general assistance.

Many museums offer staff that can answer questions about exhibits or give directions around the building. The Children’s Museum of Phoenix differs because they also have many hands-on opportunities in 3 different galleries: KidsTown (for ages 8 & under), ScienceWorks (ages 6+) where visitors can build giant structures from spaghetti noodles in NoodleNation; play detective at Crime Busters Detective Agency; mix slime colors at Slime Lab while learning all about polymers…etc) , The ArtsUp Gallery(age 5+).
