About The Owner/Winemaker: MJ Keenan

MJ Keenan is a Grammy Award-winning vocalist for the internationally revered music acts Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. He has been featured on numerous TV shows across America as well as Europe to perform his award-winning singing skills including American Idol’s final round! MJ also owns several wineries in Arizona where he makes wine from grapes grown all over 110 acres under vine throughout the state with Merkin Vineyards being one such producer alongside Caduceus Cellars & Co-Op – Four Eight Wineworks. In addition, MJ founded The Arizona Vignerons Alliance which works tirelessly towards bettering quality control among other things through data collection by growers themselves. He has been a participating member of the Arizona Winegrowers Association since 2009. Keenan, 54-years old from Ohio and raised in West Michigan as an orchardist himself before moving to Jerome where he now runs two businesses with his indispensable help from wife Jennifer Lei Li Keenan who alongside him brings life back into these forgotten parts by bringing them new jobs through their multiple ventures including wine cellars filled not only all year round but also during fall apples picking season which draws many people here just for this one occasion!

Tasting Rooms

The tasting rooms at Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale are open daily for tasting and they offer a full bar with wines by the glass, bottle, or flight. Wines are available to purchase at Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale. Wines can be found in over 200 restaurants throughout Arizona including J&G Grill located on the Valley Ho Hotel’s rooftop offering views of the Valley. Wines are also served at The Phoenician Resort, Scottsdale Princess, and Four Seasons resorts.

Merkin Vineyards Old Town Scottsdale has a wide variety of wine tasting options that will leave you wanting more. Their wines are made from grapes grown on-site and sourced locally to ensure freshness, flavor, and quality. Come by for an unforgettable experience with friends or loved ones.

Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars are making high elevation wines out of predominantly Italian and Spanish varieties. Owner, MJ Keenan is producing roughly 7000 cases a year in his tiny underground concrete facility known as The Bunker with help from winemaker Tim White who has been intricately involved since its inception when they were just starting out.

A tasting tour through the different regions of Italy and Spain will leave you feeling as if a time machine has transported you to an authentic vineyard. The grapes grown at Caduceus Cellars have been carefully cultivated, experimenting with unique grape varieties known for their superior quality in both flavor profile or production value which results in wine so extraordinary it makes visitors want more.

The Merkin Vineyards wines are the perfect way to toast Arizona’s warm, sunny climate. We produce their fruit-forward reds and fresh whites from locally grown grapes on 70 acres near Willcox in southern AZ – one of America’s most beautiful regions!

Production at this winery is a labor of love. The grapes are hand-picked and fermented in open-topped bins for the reds or submerged into tanks with carbon dioxide before being pressed to produce white wines such as Mouton Cadet bottles lined up on shelves. There’s plenty more going on here than just making delicious drinks; they are also making Malvasia Bianca Orange Wines which come from olives grown mainly around Andalucía’s coastlands including Jerez de la Frontera where they add flavor while enhancing aroma through slight vinegary notes thanks again largely due to its proximity not only other major producing regions across Spain but specifically Sicily.
