The Uptown Farmers Market is a weekly Wednesday and Saturday morning market held on the grounds of the North Phoenix Baptist Church in the South Central neighborhood with plenty of parking.

It’s a market founded and run by Bo Mostow, who aspires to make a difference in the neighborhood by providing a warm and inviting environment for friends, neighbors, and local vendors to share their favorite dishes and handcrafted items from around the state.

Cave Creek Golf Course is Phoenix’s most popular municipal golf course, located in North Mountain Village. The design of this 18-hole course by Jack Snyder includes excellent hole variety alongside a golf school and a driving range. Since its inception in 1983, Cave Creek has been a landfill reclamation project. It’s a pioneer in ecological design because it shows that similar places may find sustainable uses.  Golfers of all abilities will enjoy this tree-lined course. It’s open all day, every day of the year (except when it snows).

The North Village Baptist Church is located in the heart of Sunnyslope with a mission to “GRACE” – Growing closer to God by Reaching lost people, Adoring Jesus Caring for each other, and Equipping them as leaders within their communities or assemblies.

The Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m. and lasts until 10:20 a.m. There is a welcome/greeting time from 10:20 – 10:45 in the worship center with food and conversation. The morning service lasts from 10:45 until 12 p.M in the fall, winter, and spring months, and Small Groups are offered on Sunday evenings within the adult ministries during these times.

5. Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church | 1212 E Glendale Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85020 (602) 997-6944

Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church is an ELCA Lutheran congregation in Central Phoenix, called to share God’s narrative, grow in God’s love, and serve God’s creation together in Christ.

The church has been in downtown Phoenix for more than 65 years and is actively involved in God’s work in the community now. Believes that Jesus loves each of us and wants us to intentionally share his love with others.

Parks, Schools & Other Points of Interest in North Mountain Village

North Mountain Village is also home to some amazing parks, schools, public libraries,  and schools for its citizens to enjoy.  These facilities are all world-class, beautifully maintained,and clean so residents of surrounding communities often visit to enjoy them.  Here’s a short list all located in North Mountain Village:

The West Campus of Arizona State University is a public institution in Phoenix, Arizona. It is one of five sites that make up Arizona State University. The Arizona Legislature founded the West campus in 1984, which is located in northwest Phoenix and borders the city of Glendale. The campuses of Arizona State University are unified as a single institution for many purposes. The West campus shares students, faculty, administration, and accreditation with the other ASU campuses.

The West campus is the smallest of ASU’s institutions when it comes to building area (the square footage of its structures). Around a quad are five academic buildings, which are encircled by a secondary quad, surrounded by campus dormitories, dining hall, and recreation center.

Castles N Coasters is a family-friendly amusement park in Phoenix that has been entertaining Valley residents since 1976. The go-kart track, an 18-hole miniature golf course, an indoor multi-level video arcade with 150 machines, and several hair-raising rides like The Patriot and Desert Storm make Castles N Coasters a must-see. The amusement park is conveniently located at Metro Center Mall.

Sumida Park is a hidden gem in central Phoenix.  There’s a lot of grass, full-scale basketball courts, and a huge playground. Sumida Park is unbeatable for mountain vistas and beautiful sky. With just a few children playing, the playground is typically quite quiet. There is equipment for toddlers and older children available.

Bring your family and friends for a fun day at the park! The picnic area has grills so you can cook up some meats, making it easy to stay healthy while celebrating. Make sure you call before reserving one of these awesome facilities.

5. Shaw Butte Trailhead |  12898 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85022

Shaw Butte Trail is a moderately difficult 6.8 kilometer out and back trail in Phoenix, Arizona with beautiful views that is popular among runners. The route is generally utilized for walking, hiking, running, and nature excursions throughout the year and is accessible to dogs. This path can also be enjoyed by dogs on leash.
