At Joe’s Farm Grill, they specialize in common foods done exceptionally well. They seek out the highest QUALITY ingredients, sourcing them locally whenever possible. They harvest fruit, vegetables, and herbs from The Farm at Agritopia before reaching out to local farmers in other parts of Arizona. Not everything can be completely local, but they do their best. For their burgers, they use local, all-natural beef and trans-fat-free oils for frying, dressings, and marinades.

2. 12 West Brewing Co. | 3000 East Ray Road Barnone, building 6, suite 110, Gilbert, AZ 85296, United States

Bryan McCormick and Noel Garcia, co-founders, were introduced by mutual friends in March 2016. They made it official in April and began brewing on a one-barrel system right away.

Noel called Joe Johnston after hearing about the Barnone project at Agritopia to see if there were any spots left. Thankfully, there was, and it was finalized three days later! While Barnone was being built, Noel & Bryan upgraded to a 10-barrel system at their production facility and began brewing beers for their November 2016 grand opening.

3. Riparian Preserve at Water Ranch | 2757 E Guadalupe Rd, Gilbert, AZ 85234, United States

The Preserve is divided into several vegetative zones, ranging from marshlands to native riparian and upland vegetation. Approximately 298 bird species have been identified on the site, as well as numerous insects, fish, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals. The park has over 4.5 miles of trails and interpretive education panels on wildlife and vegetation throughout. To enhance the visitor’s experience, viewing blinds have been installed at various locations near the edges of several ponds. A floating boardwalk that crosses the northern end of the lake provides visitors with a close-up view of the fish and ducks in the water. An ethnobotanical garden, a paleontology dig site, pollinator gardens, including a hummingbird garden, and other educational areas are available.

Crossroads District Park, which opened in 1992, has basketball and volleyball courts, soccer, baseball, and softball fields, ramadas with grills, a shaded play area (which was recently installed), an amphitheater, a large lake, and a large grassy basin area with multi use fields. Crossroads also has a small dog park with two (2) fenced acres, separate use areas for active and timid dogs, partial night lighting (south end), owner/pet drinking fountains, tables and benches, “Mutt-Mitt” waste disposal stations, and a shaded structure. AZ Ice Gilbert, a family-oriented venue for safe and enjoyable ice activities for all ages, is also located at Crossroads. It offers indoor hockey, public ice skating, party rooms, a café, arcade games, and programs.
